What suggestions would you like to give to the Chief Minister of province 2 for bringing remarkable achievements in education sector of this province?
Our Chief Minister has launched an effective and convincing slogan, “Teach the daughters, save the daughters”, for we are actively working on its successful manifestation. But the government has adopted suppressive and discriminatory policies and practices for private schools and underestimated their contributions to the academic sphere. It is really painful for us. Such chagrin to the investors of private education sector is intolerable for us since it has created threat and chaos. The government should understand that private education sector has contributed to 80% of results of SEE in the nation which has become the matter of prestige to the government in international community. So, the chief minister and the government should amend such discriminatory and suppressive policies and practices, but it should bring encouraging policy to boost up the morale of the private sector. Government should bring appropriate controlling and monitoring mechanism for bringing all the schools to the right track and the provision of punishment and rewards should be brought into practice.
After the restructuring of the government, the local level government has been given the rights and responsibilities to handle the school level education. Do you find local level government being cooperative?
Due to lack of proper foundation, the local government is in dilemma as how to run school education. They have been making plan, policies and practices haphazardly. There is depression in private education institutions in many ways. Our local body has made the role of imposing around NPR 250,000.00 as deposit to run the curriculum up to Grade Three. Similarly, it has made compulsion to deposit NPR. 100, 000.00 for the upgrade of one class. In this sense, the school has to deposit more than one million rupees in order to run secondary level. Similarly, the government has imposed unnecessary and unreasonable taxes ignoring our contributions.
What do you want to say at last?
In my view, education is the foundation pillar of progress and prosperity of a nation. No development can be imagined without developing education. As we know, knowledge is our best property I, therefore, suggest the government to enhance education level in cooperation with the private sectors. Finally, I want to express my gratitude to you and the team of College Readers for providing me such an opportunity in expressing my feelings through your esteemed magazine.
