It is the general and on-going tendency. Human minds always want to embrace a rewarding way of living. In spite of this, Lahan Everest College has been able to stop those dream chasers in a large extent. The government has transferred the responsibility of school education to the local level now. To what extent, has the local level government initiated the inspection process in local institutions?
Local government has been maintaining quality at school level education. So, it has been trying its best to systematize school education. For this, it has inspected private schools and interfered with their activities which have not fulfilled criteria for education impartation. For the established schools like ours, there is no any interference of local government since we have been running school by fulfilling all the criteria.
In your experience, what type of education is needed for the prosperity of Province 2? What suggestions would you like to give to the Chief Minister concerning this issue?
In my view, technical education is the urgent need of this province. Agriculture engineering, medical, forestry, etc. come under the choice of the students of Terai Region. As we know Province 2 entirely lies in the Terai region, there is high possibility of agriculture development. Producing competitive, technical and vocational human resources is the urgent need of Province 2. So, the government should give focus on technical education related to agriculture.
What is your expectation towards the central government for maintaining systematic education delivery?
Education has its national structure, goals and objectives. To determine the national structure of education it is the responsibility of the central government. So the central government should prepare national curriculums in time by studying the need of nation. Still there is confusion in implementation of new curricula in new session. Therefore, the central government should determine that new curricula will benefit learners immensely. The government should prepare the syllabuses that make the learners competitive and innovative to meet the demand of 21st century. Similarly, the government should bring clear plans and policies regarding private sector education.
What would you like to say at last?
First of all, I want to thank you and the team of College Readers magazine for providing me such an opportunity to share my views with your and the readers through your magazine. Similarly, Nepal has adopted federal system of government, so, education policy and program should also be made and implemented by realizing the federal structure of the country.
