About College
Depot Secondary School was established in 1963 AD by the Brigade of Gurkha with aim on imparting high quality school education to the children of British Gurkha servicemen and Ex-servicemen of the Brigade at an affordable cost. The construction of all the building of this school was funded by British Gurkha service men's salary which generally known as the "One day pay scheme". In 1984 AD the school received a huge financial donation from the Honorable Dr. Horace Kadoorie and the Kadoorie family. This secondary School used this generous donation to refurnish many buildings to bring them a high standard. School has been run by the British Gurkha Ex-Servicemen family Association since the Brigade of Gurkha left the Depot in 1989. The School is centrally located on a large plot of land covering 13.53 Bigha (175.89 Ropani) in the north western part of the BP Koirala institute of Health Science (BPKIHS). The art-of-state facilities include class rooms (Nursery to +2).
Deport Secondary School offers ten plus two programs in Management, Science and Computer Science streams. It is affiliated to National Examinations Boards (NEB) and approved by Education Ministry of Nepal.

Facilities
Depot School has a long illustrious history in the events of sports since its establishment. School emphasize in sports primarily to motivate students to achieve not only in books education but to be physically and emotionally healthy. School has employed coaches for Basketball, Volleyball, Football, Badminton, Table-tennis and Karate. Every year school organize the annual sports day that includes track and field on school athletic ground. School also provides sports scholarship program every year during the school admission.
School library has an enormous collection of books ranging from kids stories to literature, history, geography, medical, technology etc. Library books are very good resource to students and to teachers as well for their studies and the knowledge. School library is open to all the students from junior to senior classes.
Dance class in School helps children develop skills that are necessary for learning such as creativity, communication, critical thinking, and collaboration. Through the creative process, students are encouraged to use their imagination, collaborate with their peers to solve problems, and discover multiple solutions to challenges. School dance teacher is a professional who teaches students from the folk to modern dance movements.
School under the Nepal Scout Association recruits both the girls and boys scout from the junior to senior level students. They are trained on practical outdoor activities, including camping, woodcraft, aquatics, hiking, backpacking, and sports. In regular basis the school scouts go camping and learn the survival skills in the wilderness.

Admissions are open in Grade 11 in Science, Management, and Law faculties.
Admission is given on the basis of an Entrance Examination which is mandatory and comprehensive, and your SEE GPA will also play a significant role in getting the scholarship. Subsequently, a one-on-one interview will conducted by the sponsoring college/ institution, which is a must for eligible candidates to attend accompanied by their parents.

Since the selection process is transparent, fair and competitive, it is mandatory for all candidates to pass the scholarship tests to acquire a scholarship for higher education.
