Coming across 28 years since its establishment, Siddhhartha Gautam Buddha Campus has now become a niche for both quality and public concern. Revising its concern for the students of is advantaged class and community, the campus has begun to cater the needs of almost every class of society. Along with the paradigm shift it has made in its fundamental premises, the campus has updated itself in term of its overall quality. Getting accredited by UGC as QAA certified campus is an assertion of its quality.

The campus has made significant progression in extending educational programs.   Commenced with PCL program in humanities faculty, the campus has been running TU affiliated BBS and B.Ed programs in Bachelor’s level and semester based MBS and M.Ed (Nepali, English, Curriculum and Health) in Master’s level serving approximately 1850 students.  Keeping in view the growing demand of the new generation, it is planning to run trendy programs like BBA, BBM, BIM and BSW. The campus has updated itself in term of infrastructure as well. It started its initial classes in the building of Shree Kanti Boarding School. After obtaining 0-8-12 kattha land at its present location through ministry level cabinet decision, the campus constructed buildings with the financial support of Butwal Chamber of Commerce, Butwal Municipality, District Development Committee of Rupandehi and UGC other social donors. The Campus has now five blocks for academic, administrative and library purpose.

Strategically, the campus has mapped up its goals and vision and is oriented towards their accomplishment. It made a five year strategic plan for fiscal year 2072/73 to 2077/78. Some of the goals stated in the plan have been accomplished, while others are on the verge of accomplishment. The campus has passed through various and arduous stages from receiving LOI to follow-up visit to get accredited as QAA certified campus.  With the QAA accreditation, the campus has executed its historical responsibilities and has entered new stage of its evolution with even more opportunities and challenges. As being a community based campus, it has also expanded its social relationship with different educational, financial, medical and corporate institutions and has signed MoU with them. This attempt has fostered its image in the society and has opened up many job opportunities for our students. It has also given the campus its social recognition. The historical responsibility bestowed upon the campus would never have been executed without the support of many helping hands. In this regard, my sincere gratitude is due to Prof. Dr. Shyam Lohani, Prof. Dr. Panna Thapa and Prof. Dr. Basudev Kafle and their team members. I also express my sincere gratitude to the chair and members of CMC, assistant campus chiefs, coordinators, department heads, SSR coordinator and members, faculty members, non teaching staffs, leaders of different students’ organizations, students, guardians, political leaders and local community. I do hope that we will be able to overcome the challenges ahead with the same sense of solidarity and devotion.
